THE CHALLENGE

Dense industry information cannot be half-followed.

The report launch moved through figures, charts, policy detail and organisation names. These were the parts the audience came to understand—and the easiest details to lose while mentally translating before the next slide appears.

The venue was a support-centre training room rather than a purpose-built event production space.

HOW IT RAN

Attendees entered from a QR code and used Orato Flow in their mobile browser. There was no app-store visit, account, download or receiver to collect.

Construction-sector terminology, training bodies, schemes and company names were prepared in advance. Attendees could also scroll back through earlier lines when they wanted to revisit a figure or point.

NOTHING ADDED TO THE ROOM

The presentation setup stayed exactly as it was.

The venue’s own projector continued to show the report. Translation lived on personal devices, so the organiser did not need another screen, AV crew, interpreter booth or front-of-house headset operation.

The programme stayed on schedule in English while the audience could access Chinese whenever they needed it.

THE OUTCOME

The second language arrived without doubling the programme.

More than 200 people could follow the same presentation at the same pace. The event kept its original format while attendees gained direct, private access to live Chinese captions.
